Day 1  -  Suwanee, GA To Lincoln, NE

The first day of our trip was a real adventure. We were making up time all day against our schedule until we got to Missouri. There was a truck crash on I-70 yesterday that took out a bridge. The interstate was closed in both directions yesterday between St Louis and Kansas City. Today they got eastbound traffic moving but we had to take a detour that took us 65 miles and two hours out of the way. We left home at 3:40 am est and arrived in Lincoln at 11:00 pm cst. 1078 miles in 21 hours averages 51 mph. Not bad considering we stopped for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, a couple of potty breaks once to ask directions and two tanks of gas.
